### Accountabilities

The Team Lead API Engineer will be responsible for driving the development of integration platforms, APIs, and AI-enabled automation solutions while guiding technical decisions and ensuring engineering excellence.

• Design, develop, and maintain integration services and microservices using Java, Python, and relevant open-source frameworks.
• Build scalable REST APIs and event-driven integrations using technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, GraphQL, and AWS SQS.
• Manage the complete API lifecycle, from architecture and development through deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
• Develop and maintain solutions based on microservices architecture and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Apply MuleSoft expertise to support API development, integrations, connectivity solutions, and advanced design patterns.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate software delivery, improve code quality, and enhance engineering productivity.
• Explore and implement agentic integrations, AI-powered automation, and emerging technologies to improve business processes.
• Apply responsible AI practices, including data privacy, governance, security considerations, and model evaluation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize enterprise integrations and improve platform reliability.
• Support technical mentoring, knowledge sharing, and best practices across engineering teams.

## Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong backend engineering experience, expertise in API development, and the ability to lead technical initiatives in a fast-evolving technology environment.

• 7+ years of professional experience with Java development and several years of experience using Python as a secondary language.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and building microservices architectures and managing end-to-end API lifecycles.
• Proven experience developing REST APIs and working with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with integration technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, GraphQL, and AWS SQS.
• Practical experience with MuleSoft API development, integrations, connectivity, or automation patterns.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and CI/CD practices, preferably within AWS ecosystems.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and an understanding of responsible AI principles.
• Interest in AI automation, agentic workflows, open-source integration frameworks, and emerging developer productivity tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
