Accountabilities

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading engineering activities, managing project delivery, and ensuring technical solutions meet customer and business expectations.

  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering activities for major customer projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Oversee design, development, and engineering tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and cross-functional teams to define requirements, solve engineering challenges, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Act as a primary technical point of contact for customers, addressing engineering questions and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Manage the execution of engineering solutions while monitoring progress, risks, and delivery milestones.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance engineering processes and outcomes.
  • Ensure all technical deliverables meet customer expectations and applicable engineering standards.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a skilled mechanical engineering professional with experience managing complex projects and delivering technical solutions in demanding environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Significant experience working in mechanical engineering roles, with proven project leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience managing complex engineering projects, preferably within aerospace, defence, industrial, or highly regulated sectors.
  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical design, development, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging customers, technical teams, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and supporting technical team development.
