### Accountabilities

As the Director of Human Resources, you will own the people strategy and HR operations while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees. You will build scalable programs, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and create an employee experience that supports high performance and long-term growth.

  • Develop and execute the overall people strategy, including workforce planning, organizational design, talent management, and employee experience initiatives.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to executives and managers on leadership development, performance management, compensation, employee relations, and organizational decisions.
  • Build and improve compensation frameworks, salary structures, leveling systems, promotion criteria, equity practices, and incentive programs.
  • Design and lead performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback cycles, reviews, development plans, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Manage core HR operations, including benefits, payroll partnerships, HR systems, policies, compliance documentation, and employee records.
  • Partner with legal advisors on employee relations matters, investigations, accommodations, leave management, policy decisions, and employment-related issues.
  • Strengthen internal communication, employee engagement, recognition programs, and connection across a distributed workforce.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and organizational practices to support company scalability.
  • Balance employee needs with business priorities by providing thoughtful, data-driven recommendations.
  • Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.

## Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational execution. You should have experience building people programs in fast-paced environments and the ability to navigate complex organizational challenges with sound judgment and empathy.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in human resources, people operations, or organizational leadership.
  • 3+ years leading an HR or People function, ideally within a high-growth, startup, or rapidly evolving organization.
  • Experience supporting distributed or multi-location teams.
  • Proven ability to operate as both an executive partner and a hands-on HR practitioner.
  • Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle management, compensation, benefits, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, emotional intelligence, and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide direct, thoughtful, and compassionate feedback.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze organizational trends and make informed recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions, identify issues, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment where processes are built, improved, and adapted over time.
  • Passion for improving access to healthcare services and supporting mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience in healthcare, telehealth, technology, regulated industries, subscription businesses, or consumer services is an asset.
  • Experience implementing HRIS, payroll, benefits, applicant tracking, performance management, or engagement platforms is preferred.
