Backend Tech Lead

### Accountabilities

The Backend Tech Lead will be responsible for leading backend engineering initiatives, designing scalable architectures, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality cloud-based solutions. Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing scalable, high-performance software solutions leveraging cloud capabilities.
• Leading and mentoring a team of software developers in building cloud-native applications and delivering reliable solutions.
• Driving architectural discussions and technical design decisions for large-scale applications built on AWS and/or Azure.
• Developing and optimizing backend services using Node.js and modern software engineering practices.
• Improving application performance through effective code optimization, resource management, and system analysis.
• Ensuring security best practices are integrated across cloud infrastructure and application development processes.
• Promoting engineering best practices to improve code quality, reliability, testing standards, and delivery efficiency.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, manage priorities, and deliver projects successfully.
• Supporting the adoption of modern development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerization, and infrastructure automation.
• Contributing to the evolution of microservices architectures and serverless solutions.
• Communicating technical strategies and project progress to stakeholders, including senior leadership when required.

### Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineering leader with strong technical expertise in cloud technologies and a proven ability to guide teams through complex software projects. Required qualifications and skills include:

• 7+ years of software development experience with a strong track record of delivering successful projects.
• Extensive backend development experience, particularly with Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS and/or Azure, with relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, or equivalent being a plus.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design principles, and scalable system architecture.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and serverless frameworks.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus.
• Previous experience in a Tech Lead role with a focus on cloud-based solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor teams, manage multiple priorities, and influence technical decisions.
