### Accountabilities

The Senior UX Strategist will lead end-to-end experience strategy across complex digital projects, partnering with designers, engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to create user-centered solutions. This role focuses on research, information architecture, content strategy, and strategic guidance throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Own UX strategy from discovery through delivery across complex digital initiatives.
  • Lead stakeholder research, discovery sessions, interviews, and requirements gathering in complex or ambiguous environments.
  • Translate user needs, business objectives, policy requirements, and technical constraints into clear experience strategies.
  • Define experience principles, success criteria, and structural approaches that guide design and development decisions.
  • Create strategic UX deliverables including personas, user journeys, service blueprints, workflows, and information architecture frameworks.
  • Develop content strategies focused on structure, hierarchy, clarity, accessibility, and scalable content experiences.
  • Create content models and strategic frameworks that support reusable, maintainable digital systems.
  • Define UX approaches that consider CMS architecture, data models, integrations, workflows, and technical limitations.
  • Guide experiences for public-facing platforms as well as internal administrative and operational systems.
  • Collaborate with product designers to ensure design patterns and systems align with strategic goals and technical requirements.
  • Provide UX leadership, quality oversight, and recommendations throughout implementation.
  • Partner with engineering teams and technical stakeholders to identify risks and ensure solutions are feasible.
  • Facilitate workshops, presentations, and strategic discussions with clients and project stakeholders.

## Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced UX strategist with strong systems thinking, content strategy expertise, and the ability to independently lead complex digital initiatives.

  • 10+ years of experience in UX strategy, experience design, information architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience leading UX strategy for complex CMS-backed and data-driven digital platforms.
  • Strong understanding of information architecture, content modeling, and system-level UX design.
  • Ability to operate independently, make strategic decisions, and guide projects with limited oversight.
  • Experience working in policy-driven, regulated, enterprise, government, education, or public-sector environments preferred.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills, including workshop facilitation and strategic presentations.
  • Understanding of how content structures, data models, permissions, workflows, and system constraints impact user experiences.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
  • Experience creating UX strategy artifacts such as journeys, conceptual frameworks, content models, and experience principles.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and digital product implementation processes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in iterative, project-based environments and engaging in technical discussions.
