### Accountabilities

The GIS Utility Consultant will provide technical consulting expertise to support the design, implementation, and optimization of GIS-based utility solutions. The role requires collaboration with customers and internal teams to translate business needs into effective technology strategies.

  • Conduct needs assessments and gather business requirements from utility stakeholders to understand operational challenges and objectives.
  • Develop GIS strategies, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps to improve utility operations and technology adoption.
  • Support the planning, configuration, and deployment of solutions within an Esri environment, including Utility Network Management capabilities.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales teams, project managers, technical specialists, and partners throughout project lifecycles.
  • Create and maintain operational procedures, best practices, system documentation, and standard operating processes.
  • Assist with the preparation of training materials and deliver hands-on user training and support when required.
  • Support proposal development, RFP responses, client presentations, and consulting service opportunities.
  • Apply Agile and Scrum methodologies to organize project activities, monitor progress, and communicate updates.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, evaluate solutions, and provide recommendations for improving system performance.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable and sustainable GIS solutions aligned with customer goals.

## Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong GIS expertise, utility industry knowledge, and consulting experience with the ability to translate customer requirements into effective technical solutions. Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, Geography, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Utility Network implementations, configurations, and customizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Esri ArcGIS products and Utility Network Management solutions.
  • Experience designing and deploying GIS solutions based on customer business requirements.
  • Ability to understand and work with multi-tiered system architectures, including server environments, network communications, and security concepts.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing documentation, training materials, and user guidance.
  • Familiarity with promoting builds across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
