### Accountabilities
The Sr. Systems Engineer I will support the execution of cybersecurity programs by designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and improving security solutions. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to address security challenges.
- Develop, administer, and support cybersecurity processes using security platforms and tools, including RSA Archer.
- Serve as a security engineering subject matter expert responsible for planning, designing, and architecting multi-technology cybersecurity solutions.
- Investigate security incidents and technical issues to identify root causes, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective remediation strategies.
- Provide recommendations for improving security posture, system reliability, and operational processes.
- Support security activities while collaborating with key stakeholders and documenting security information and event management activities.
- Perform remote management, troubleshooting, and technical analysis of workstations and servers.
- Research and evaluate security solutions to support program growth and evolving technology requirements.
- Assess information assurance and cybersecurity requirements based on user needs, policies, regulations, and resource considerations.
- Analyze security features within system architectures and provide guidance on secure design practices.
- Support compliance initiatives aligned with cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST, FISMA, agency security policies, privacy requirements, and cloud security guidelines.
## Requirements
The ideal candidate is an experienced cybersecurity professional with strong systems engineering knowledge and the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and improve secure technology environments.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including at least 2 years focused on security engineering activities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills related to security information and event management.
- Experience supporting enterprise security solutions, system architectures, and cybersecurity operations.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST, FISMA, and cloud security environments.
- Ability to assess security requirements and translate technical needs into effective solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with government or regulated environments is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance.
- Security+ certification required.
- Strong understanding of security engineering principles, risk management, and secure system design.
