We are seeking a highly motivated **Turbomachinery Engineer II** to support the design, development, and testing of next-generation rocket propulsion systems. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing critical turbopump hardware from initial concept through flight-ready implementation. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams, you will contribute to the rapid development of high-performance propulsion technologies in a fast-paced environment where hands-on problem solving, technical rigor, and continuous innovation are essential to mission success.

### JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop a variety of turbopump parts, including cryogenics pumps, turbines and seals. Create models and drawings of parts and assemblies. Perform calculations and analyses with team support.
  • Own requirements definition, architecture trades, and system-level integration for assigned subsystems.
  • Create schematics and document processes.
  • Perform CFD and FEA analyses to evaluate performance parameters such as efficiency, head curves and mechanical integrity under operating conditions.
  • Work with manufacturing team to create finished turbomachinery parts. Support parts through 3d-printing, machining, post processing, and inspection. Incorporate feedback to improve design for manufacturing.
  • Develop and execute test programs, analyze experimental data, and apply findings to optimize designs.
  • Collaborate across mechanical, aerospace, and controls engineering teams to deliver flight-ready hardware.

### JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace propulsion systems or related areas.
  • Hands-on proficiency in CAD tools (Siemens NX, SolidWorks)
  • Demonstrated expertise in structural or mechanical design for flight hardware.
  • Experience in early-stage vehicle architecture and design trades.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Willing to make mistakes, take responsibilities, work independently and be transparent about your work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

### PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience designing turbopump parts, including cryogenic pumps, turbines and seals, or other rocket systems.
  • Practical experience in test bench setup and performance diagnostics.
  • Hands-on engineering (Full-stack: computer to wrench to broom).
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with aerospace safety and reliability practices.
