What we offer
Reporting to the Health & Safety (H&S) Director, the Corporate Health and Safety Specialist role will work in collaboration with the Health & Safety Managers as well as Division leadership to support the Mattamy H&S programs. This role will be committed to safety as a value and provides support for Mattamy to achieve their goal of having an incident and injury free workplace.
What you’ll do
Support the
- facilitation and management of WSIB/WCB claims.
- Assist in the administration, implementation, and maintenance of Mattamy’s Health and Safety Management System.
Assist
Health & Safety
Managers
- in the administration,
- implementation,
- and maintenance of the Project Specific HS Execution Plans
- Assist in maintaining employee and subcontractor orientation and training records
- Assist in Mattamy’s subcontractor onboarding process.
- Assist in the maintenance of Mattamy’s leading and lagging
- Indicators.
Maintain
- H&S stats, Lessons Learned, and other HS related messaging
- for reporting purposes
- Use H&S data to prepare applicable H&S reports,
- presentations,
- and communications as required.
- Participate in office Joint Health and Safety Committee.
What

2+
years of experience in residential building or related construction industry.
Possess knowledge of WSIB/WCB claims management and return to work processes.
Clear and concise oral and written communication skills with accuracy in details.
Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment
A team player, who values communication and can operate effectively with peers.
Excellent problems solving skills.
Strong decision-making skills, you possess the ability to display mature, objective judgment in difficult or unusual situations through tactful direct personal action or referral to the appropriate individual.
Proactive and resourceful, with a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
Possess strong existing computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office suite applications.
Bonus points
OHS Provincial Certification (or in the process of obtaining)
Previous experience with investigating, interviewing, documenting, and reporting incidents and accidents in a health & safety context
Fluency in English and French
Compensation
- The expected base salary range for this
- position is $
- 70,000
- $
110,000
. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional
situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.
You are also eligible to participate in Mattamy’s annual bonus program which gives you the opportunity to increase your total compensation if business and individual goals are achieved.
