We are looking for a **Applied Research Mathematician** to join a growing team in **Annapolis Junction, MD.**
The Applied Research Mathematician will plan, develop, coordinate, and perform work involving the development and application of mathematical methods to solve complex problems across a variety of subject areas. Work requires applying rigorous mathematical reasoning, analytic techniques, and efficient problem-solving approaches to produce logically sound and defensible results.
This role will leverage advanced mathematics, algorithm development, and modeling techniques to support mission-driven analysis and research efforts.
**Responsibilities:**
- Experience with mathematical modeling, algorithm development, and analytic problem-solving
- Strong foundation in advanced mathematics, including areas such as discrete mathematics, linear algebra, probability, and statistics
- Ability to apply mathematical methods to real-world problems in a research or applied setting
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to rigor, accuracy, and logical consistency
**Requirements:**
#### **Level 2:**
- 5 years of relevant experience in the design, development, use, and evaluation of mathematical models, methods, and/or techniques (e.g., algorithm development) to study issues and solve problems
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Degree must include at least 24 credit hours of advanced mathematics
#### **Level 3:**
- 8 years of relevant experience in the design, development, use, and evaluation of mathematical models, methods, and/or techniques (e.g., algorithm development) to study issues and solve problems
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Degree must include at least 24 credit hours of advanced mathematics
#### **Level 4:**
- 11 years of relevant experience in the design, development, use, and evaluation of mathematical models, methods, and/or techniques (e.g., algorithm development) to study issues and solve problems
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Degree must include at least 24 credit hours of advanced mathematics
- **US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required**
