About The Role

**Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Vice President of Client Experience, you will help schools maintain accurate financial records and successfully manage their accounting workflows using Clarity software.

  • Serving as the accounting subject-matter expert and escalation point for implementation and client success teams.
  • Building the playbooks, documentation, and repeatable processes that let us scale this function - including identifying what should be handled by CSMs.
  • Diagnosing whether recurring issues are a configuration gap, a training gap, or a product gap, and feeding that back to the product team.
  • Translating schools' accounting requirements into correct Clarity configuration, partnering with implementation on complex or non-standard setups.
  • Reviewing and validating school account configurations in Clarity, identifying setup errors and edge cases before they cause downstream problems.
  • Advising schools on the correct accounting treatment for their specific situation and, when needed, helping them recognize when their current approach is wrong.
  • Supporting monthly account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies for school clients.
  • Assisting school clients with audit preparation.
  • Analyzing client account mapping and identifying opportunities for improvement in accordance with best practices.
  • Attending regular team/company meetings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

**Ideal Candidate Requirements**

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting, bookkeeping, outsourced accounting services, or a related accounting profession.
  • Experience working in software systems that act as a subsidiary ledger for organizations (ideally a billing system).
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and responsiveness.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
  • Comfortable explaining accounting concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment about when to advise, when to escalate, and when to push back on a school's approach.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar financial systems.
  • A current CPA license is a plus, but not required.
  • Growth mindset and desire to join a rapidly growing team.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure where none exists yet.

**Benefits**

  • Competitive compensation and stock options.
  • 100% company-sponsored health, medical, and dental insurance.
  • Remote-first work environment with team and company offsites.
  • Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding organization.

Interested candidates should send a résumé and cover letter to Joe Corbett, Chief of Staff, at <[email hidden]>.
