About The Role
Position Summary: In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment and facilities. Work hours: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, 4 days per week, rotating. One Week – Monday – Thursday and the next week Tuesday – Friday. On-call on a rotating basis about every 4-6 weeks from Tuesday morning to the following Tuesday morning. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain industrial process equipment for safe and reliable operation. Diagnose operating problems and carry out corrective actions. Install functional parts in devices or equipment; repair and/or rebuild as necessary. Remove defective parts by dismantling equipment using hoists, hand and power tools. Repair or replace valves, gear boxes, agitators, pipe, steam traps, and pumps. Build and install threaded pipe systems. Carry out preventive and predictive tasks as instructed. Install and align pumps, motors, agitators, and other shaft driven equipment. Operate industrial powered vehicles such as a forklift, boom lift, and lull. Perform all duties in accordance with all company safe work policies and practices. Communicate and effectively interact with coworkers and management. Other duties, as assigned. Very limited travel, for training. Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required. (Will consider 10+ years of experience, in lieu.) 4+ years of industrial maintenance mechanic experience, required. (Specifically, in the repair and maintenance of industrial pumps, motors, and gear boxes.) Certification(s) in stick welding, plate welding (1G, 2G, and 3G), and / or pipe welding (1G and 2G), preferred. Personal Characteristics: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of instructions both in oral and written form. Ability to read and interpret schematics. Strong organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and without close supervision. General knowledge and experience with mechanical systems. Understanding and knowledge of mechanical drive installations. Basic knowledge of process flow diagrams and isometric drawings. Demonstrative understanding of lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures. Clear understanding of safe work permitting requirements. Ability to understand the basics of chemical properties and recognize potential hazards.
