What You'll Do

You'll perform repairs and component replacements on heavy construction equipment used throughout Arizona's water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include

• Replace major components including powertrain, brake, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systems
• Perform heavy mechanical repairs on backhoes, loaders, excavators, lifts, trucks, trailers, and other construction equipment
• Repair and replace starters, alternators, batteries, and other electrical components
• Assist with hydraulic system repairs and component replacement
• Assist with engine and transmission repairs and overhauls
• Test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation
• Complete equipment inspection reports and repair documentation
• Order replacement parts as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements

Who You Are

We're looking for someone who

• Has experience working as a heavy equipment or heavy-duty truck mechanic
• Is comfortable performing heavy line mechanical work and major parts replacement
• Can follow direction from senior mechanics or supervisors and complete repairs with minimal supervision
• Takes ownership of assigned work and sees it through to completion
• Enjoys being a hands-on mechanic rather than managing others
• Works safely and takes pride in quality workmanship

Qualifications

• Experience repairing heavy construction equipment, heavy trucks, or similar equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• CDL preferred, but not required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
