What You'll Do
You'll perform repairs and component replacements on heavy construction equipment used throughout Arizona's water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities include
- Replace major components including powertrain, brake, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systems
- Perform heavy mechanical repairs on backhoes, loaders, excavators, lifts, trucks, trailers, and other construction equipment
- Repair and replace starters, alternators, batteries, and other electrical components
- Assist with hydraulic system repairs and component replacement
- Assist with engine and transmission repairs and overhauls
- Test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation
- Complete equipment inspection reports and repair documentation
- Order replacement parts as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements
Who You Are
We're looking for someone who
- Has experience working as a heavy equipment or heavy-duty truck mechanic
- Is comfortable performing heavy line mechanical work and major parts replacement
- Can follow direction from senior mechanics or supervisors and complete repairs with minimal supervision
- Takes ownership of assigned work and sees it through to completion
- Enjoys being a hands-on mechanic rather than managing others
- Works safely and takes pride in quality workmanship
Qualifications
- Experience repairing heavy construction equipment, heavy trucks, or similar equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- CDL preferred, but not required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
