Hardware Technical Director – for Intelligent Android POS

We are a global technology corporation with our base in China, dedicated to shaping the future of commerce through cutting-edge Intelligent Android POS solutions. As part of our global R&D structure, we are seeking an exceptional Hardware Technical Director to lead our hardware tech team.

Job overall Description

As the Hardware Technical Director, you will be the strategic leader for all hardware development within our Intelligent POS product lines. You will own the entire hardware lifecycle, track the HW platform tech trend from architecture and design to validation and manufacturing. You will lead the team and be the key technical liaison for our headquarters and global partners, ensuring our hardware platforms set the industry standard for performance, quality, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Hardware platform Strategy & Roadmapping: Define and execute the global hardware technology strategy and platform roadmap for our Intelligent POS products, aligning with the overall business goals set by headquarters. Collaborate with product development team and engage product development, and validation of the relevant hardware components, including power management, thermal, RF (Wi-Fi/BT/4G/5G), Security element, and peripherals (printers, scanners, cash drawers).
• Team Management & Development: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing hardware engineering team. Foster a culture of union, excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Cross-functional & Global Collaboration: Serve as the primary hardware point of contact for our overseas headquarters and international teams. Collaborate closely with global software, product, and supply chain to deliver the solutions.
• Suppliers Management: Lead technical engagements with key component suppliers and OEM/ODM partners. Evaluate the key components on the technology perspective, making the components choice to meet the product development requirement.
• Process& Compliance:Ensure all products/technologies comply with global regulatory, safety, and environmental standards (e.g., CE, FCC, RoHS). Help to establish the common process between local and headquarter.
• Technical Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, evaluating and integrating new technologies to maintain our competitive edge.

Skills Requirements

• Education & Experience:

•Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.

•Minimum of 15 years of experience in hardware development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Hardware Director, Senior Manager) managing a team of 30+ engineers.

•Proven track record of delivering multiple complex electronic products with big volume of several millions units(preferably POS, payment terminals, or other smart hardware) to mass market.

•Graduated from top universities as 211, 985.

• Technical Expertise:

• •Deep Hardware Proficiency: Expert knowledge in SOC/CPU architecture, high-speed PCB design (HDI), signal/power integrity, EMC/EMI mitigation, and RF design.
• •System Integration Mastery: Extensive experience in hardware-software co-design and system-level integration, with a strong understanding of the Android hardware ecosystem.
• •Full Product Lifecycle Knowledge: Comprehensive experience from schematic capture, layout, prototyping, debugging, validation, to high-volume manufacturing.

• Management & Leadership:

• •Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and scale a hardware engineering organization.
• •Strong project management skills, with expertise in managing complex schedules, resources, and risks.

• Language & Communication:

•Fluent in English (Mandatory): This is the primary working language for this role. You must possess exceptional verbal and written English communication skills to collaborate effectively with overseas headquarters, lead international meetings, and create detailed technical documentation.

•Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience in the POS, payment terminal, or ruggedized mobile device industry is highly preferred.
• Experience working within a multinational corporation's R&D structure.
• Strong network and experience in sourcing and managing key component suppliers globally.
• Knowledge of global payment security standards (e.g., PCI PTS) is a significant plus.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English at a professional level.
• Master's degree or above, elite international institutions.
