About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide expert surgical care for a broad spectrum of elective and emergency general surgical conditions while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

The role involves evaluating patients, formulating treatment plans, performing complex surgical procedures, and overseeing comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care. The Consultant will also contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and mentoring junior medical staff, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and evidence-based practice.

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized medical school.
  • Completion of a recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery .
  • UK CCT/CESR, American Board Certification, Australian Board (FRACS), South African Board (FCS(SA)), or other Western-recognized Board Certification in General Surgery.
  • Extensive experience in diagnosing and managing a broad range of elective and emergency general surgical conditions.
  • Proficiency in performing major and minor general surgical procedures, including minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques.
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to make timely, evidence-based decisions in complex surgical cases.
  • Experience in pre-operative assessment, intra-operative management, and post-operative patient care.
  • Ability to manage surgical emergencies and trauma cases efficiently.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining international clinical standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development, clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and support junior medical staff, residents, and allied healthcare professionals.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical records and adhering to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
