About The Role

Your Role as Youth Development Worker – Specialist Youth Housing Service

As a Youth Development Worker with our Specialist Youth Housing Service (SYHS), you will provide person-centred case management to young people aged between 16-25 through outreach, advocacy and housing support and strengthening community connections.

Key responsibilities include

  • Conduct assessments to identify client needs, risks and eligibility for support services.
  • Provide case management, advocacy and practical support to help young people achieve stable housing outcomes.
  • Develop, implement and review individual support plans with clients.
  • Build strong partnerships and coordinate referrals with community services and key stakeholders.
  • Deliver person-centred, strengths-based support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports, client records and program data.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety, compliance and organisational policies.
  • Collaborate with team members, participate in training and supervision, and support volunteers or students when required.

This is a part-time position consisting of 30 hours per week.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Community Services or a related field, or equivalent experience in the sector.
  • Experience providing trauma-informed, person-centred case management, including assessments, care planning, advocacy and referrals.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people facing complex challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with community services and stakeholders while managing client outcomes, records and administrative requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
  • Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
