What is this role

E-Space is seeking a Head of Export and Trade Compliance to join our global team. This hands-on leadership role calls for a senior professional who can help shape regulatory strategy, effectively manage and grow the function, and remain closely engaged in the day-to-day work. Qualified candidates should have comprehensive knowledge in international trade compliance, adept project management skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.

This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel (or their designee) and will work closely with Procurement, Legal, Engineering, and Finance. This position is based at our Arlington, Texas Headquarters. Exceptionally well qualified candidates in other locations may be considered.

What you will do

  • Ove rsee the global Export and Trade Compliance function to support our growing business and international footprint .

  • Develop and operationalize robust internal controls, governance, and scalable processes for i nternational t rade c ompliance across multiple sites and entities.

  • Establish documentation standards, training programs, and operating procedures to support the function as it grows ; conduct trainings for employees and contractors

  • Build the team: hire and manage a team of skilled trade compliance and export professionals who deliver high-quality, timely service the business while ensuring compliance.

  • Conduct and oversee export jurisdiction an d classification determinations ( CCL /USML ) .
  • -
  • Serve as the Empowered Official (EO), ensuring the effective and compliant execution of the export/import program.
  • -
  • Interpret U.S. trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, FTR, OFAC, and Customs) and provide strategic guidance to internal stakeholders on licensing and product development strategy.

  • Interface with the Government Contracts and Security teams to ensure cross-functional compliance.
  • -
  • Draft, oversee, and provide strategic guidance regarding US and international export licensing submissions and manage export and temporary import license applications.

  • Conduct deemed export reviews and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • -
  • Interface with U.S. government agencies on export and import-related matters.
  • -
  • Maintain accurate records of all trade compliance activities, conduct self-audits, and oversee external audit responses.

  • Stay informed about changes in export control laws and regulations, providing analysis of their applicability and impact.
  • -
  • Support the Supply Chain Team regarding international shipping and import/export compliance. Ensure compliance with Customs processes and associated requirements.

  • Review supplier terms and conditions, where applicable.

  • Perform other duties within scope of role as assigned.

What you will bring to this role

  • -
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior experience in U.S. export and import compliance (or equivalent combinations of education and experience).
  • -
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. export laws and regulations, including ITAR, EAR, FTR, OFAC, and Customs regulations.

Bonus points

  • 15+ years of experience in U.S. export and import compliance
  • Demonstrated understanding of export laws and regulations in multiple countries
  • Juris Doctor degree
