About The Role

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing the hourly workforce while overseeing daily plant operations. This role plans and schedules production and mining activities to achieve production goals, optimize operational efficiency, control plant costs, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Operations: Lead and direct the hourly operations workforce under the direction of the Plant Manager. Supervise the safe and efficient operation of the mine and processing plant within established operating parameters. Plan and schedule production and mining activities to meet production goals. Coordinate planned downtime with production and maintenance departments. Monitor employee productivity and assist with troubleshooting operational and work process issues. Identify process bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and performance. Work closely with maintenance to ensure preventive maintenance is completed and equipment operates as designed. Assume ownership of mine and process equipment performance. Track operational performance and prepare reports for management. Assign work based on employee availability, workload, and expertise. Ensure departmental goals and production expectations are consistently met. Safety Responsibilities: Conduct and document daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of production equipment. Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, operating permits, and U.S. Silica policies and procedures. Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors receive required safety training before entering operational areas. Promote and enforce all company safety and health policies. Customer Service Responsibilities: Support daily order processing and ensure orders are entered accurately in JDE. Provide support to customers and carriers regarding scheduled shipments. Quality Responsibilities: Provide customers with daily Certificates of Analysis (COAs) through QAD software. Ensure shipped products meet all customer quality specifications and remain free from contamination during loading and transit. Problem Solving: Anticipate and prevent operational issues whenever possible. Serve as the technical resource for assigned process areas. Analyze operational and maintenance data to identify root causes of issues. Develop and implement effective corrective actions to improve performance and reliability. Partner with operations and maintenance teams to drive continuous process improvements. Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead and direct the work of hourly employees and, when applicable, Level I supervisors. Assist with hiring, employee development, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Ensure organizational processes are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred. Strong industrial or manufacturing background required. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, mining, mineral processing, or a related industrial environment. Experience with: Mineral processing Slurry pumping systems Rotating equipment Mechanical systems and troubleshooting Microsoft Office Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation. Strong leadership, planning, communication, and organizational skills.
