About The Role
The University of Memphis seeks to fill an Assistant Director for Campus School. Campus School has been designated a National Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education, a STEM school by the Tennessee Department of Education, and a Reward School by the Tennessee Department of Education. This is a 12 month staff position at the University of Memphis with full benefits. Click Here for University Schools Salary Scale. Assists in the resolution of concerns and complaints from teachers, students and parents. Works to resolve instructional, behavioral and administrative issues. Assists in the development and implementation of the academic curriculum including reviewing and evaluating instructional programs. Makes recommendations for improvement and providing instructional leadership through the evaluation process, which includes coaching and feedback, the development and implementation of professional development and staff training. Assists with the facilitation of campus and community partnerships including the development and oversight of action research as well as the support of individual, departmental and university research projects. Supervises the placement of pre-service teachers. Assist in maintaining instructional materials including establishing and maintaining a system of school-wide textbook accountability. Coordinates and implements required standardized testing programs including but not limited to District and State assessments. Assists in the coordination and supervision of extracurricular activities, and community and school-based before and after-school programs. Oversees Special Education, 504, CLUE and Response to Intervention (RTI); including but not limited to serving as Local Education Agency (LEA), and RTI Lead. Performs other duties as assigned.
Master’s degree in education or an education related field and five (5) years of appropriate experience required. State certification in Administration/Supervision, Educational Leadership. The Department is especially interested in candidates with the following additional qualifications: Candidates that posses a state certification elementary/secondary level as defined by the Tennessee Department of Education. Candidates with three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity, e.g., Instructional Facilitator or Assistant Principal.
