About The Role

Established in 2018, Sun Studio is a game developer on web platforms and mobile devices with more than 1 billion plays, a strategic partner of the world's leading web-games platforms such as: Facebook Instant Games, Game Distribution, Glance Gaming.

The team consists of over 70 members who are passionate about creating games that are accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Our team is growing and we are looking for Lead 2D Artist to strengthen our wing of game development and bring more beautiful and user-focused games to our players.

What you will work on

  • Genres: Casual / Puzzle
  • Platforms: HTML5 Games, iOS, Android

Your Responsibilities

  • Artistic direction : Defining and seeking the visual style and artistic direction for the game. This includes creating style guides and visual target benchmarks
  • Creating art assets : Designing and creating 2D art assets for the game, such as characters, environments, UI elements, etc
  • Quality assurance : Ensuring that all 2D art assets meet the high-quality standards of the company and that they are consistent with the overall visual style of the game
  • Collaboration : Collaborating with game designers, programmers, and other team members to ensure that the art contributes effectively to the game design and enhances the gaming experience
  • Scheduling and planning : Plan and schedule art tasks, manage resources effectively, and meet project deadlines
  • Recruiting, training, and developing employees in the art department

Your Qualifications

  • 3 years + of experience in the games industry in a leading art position; ideally with deep experience in casual puzzle free-to-play mobile games
  • Strong product vision, high artistic taste, and a trained eye; understanding of how to balance quality
  • Excellent understanding of isometry, shapes, and volumes; high level of rendering; experience in character design, creation of complex concepts and illustrations, and interface development
  • Solid casual 2D art portfolio is a must
  • Ability to see issues with graphics and give constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of the global mobile game market and trends in graphics
  • Experience assessing and developing a team

Hiring Process

  • 1st round: Portfolio & CV review
  • 2nd round: Recruiter Screen (30-45 minutes)
  • 3rd round: Test/Assessment
  • 4th round: Onsite Interview with Manager (45-60 minutes)
