About The Role

The Enterprise Financial Counselor works under the direction of leadership. Conducts financial counseling to include collection of co-pays, deductibles and payment arrangements for all Enterprise balances. Evaluates patient/guarantor for financial assistance, Cobra, and/or other 3rd party payor. Negotiates patient payment plans. Collects accounts receivable.

Personal counseling to assist patient with medical payment arrangement. Interviews patient in order to secure payment/financing of patient’s monetary responsibility. Interviews patient/guarantor to evaluate eligibility for Cobra, financial assistance, or other 3rd party payor for Mosaic Life Care (includes Clinic). Negotiates payment plans for point of service collections and past balances for Enterprise. Performs daily co-payment reconciliation for the Patient Access Services areas and the Financial Counseling Department. Evaluates patient’s credit score to determine his/her financial ability to repay debt. Assist patient with loan application to aid in the payment of financial responsibility. Communicates with Pre-Access, Care Management, and Resource Advocate staff regarding insurance eligibility. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Performs all job duties according to HIPAA & CMS guidelines. Other duties as assigned Education H.S. Diploma - High School Diploma or GED equivalent - Required Work Experience 1 Year - Previous collection experience - Required PC and Word computer experience - Preferred Typing speed of 45 WPM preferred and 10 key by touch. - Preferred Licenses and Certifications Upon Hire Travel Requirements Travel to off-site locations may be required. - Required

Essential Sensory Requirements Visually assesses reports and computer screens, hear telephone and have conversations, distinguish computer input screens.
