Position: Substitute Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Health and Clinical Services – AIDB Talladega ABOUT ALABAMA INSTITUTE FOR DEAF AND BLIND (AIDB) Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) is the world’s most comprehensive education, rehabilitation, and service program serving individuals of all ages who are Deaf, Blind, Deaf Blind, multidisabled, and their families. Founded in 1858, AIDB serves more than 30,000 infants, toddlers, children, adults, and senior citizens with hearing and vision loss throughout Alabama each year. You will display a positive, approachable, and professional demeanor and will serve in the day-to-day communication with our students, staff, and parents. You will be able to work independently, as well as with a team. You will provide direct professional nursing care/services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to the unique and diverse needs of students in a positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the school community. Delegates interventions as per guidelines and policies. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Unencumbered, Alabama nursing license Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS School nurse experience preferred. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include working first, second, and third shifts; and weekends. Function within the framework of the Alabama Nursing Practice Act. Comply with federal, state, and internal policies, administrative guidelines, mandates, and regulations that impact nursing and school health services. Delegate interventions as per guidelines and policies. Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid for by AIDB . REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF NURSING SALARY: $16.93 Hourly rate – S1 Rank HS Scale LPN $30.60 Hourly rate – S1 Rank HS Scale RN This is an exempt position and is not subject to overtime or compensatory provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
