About The Role

About the Role Sega Sapporo Studio is seeking bilingual QA testers to support both domestic and international game testing projects. This role is primarily focused on functional QA (FQA), with additional responsibilities requiring Japanese–English bilingual support. Candidates will be expected to perform QA tasks in both Japanese- and English-language environments as needed. In addition to core QA testing work, this role includes translation of QA-related materials and written communication support with stakeholders across languages. While this is a global-facing role, candidates may work on Japanese-language QA projects as part of the core team, depending on project availability. Key Responsibilities <1.Game> QA Testing & Documentation Execute functional and exploratory testing across mobile, console, and PC titles Identify, reproduce, and report defects with clear reproduction steps and detailed descriptions Perform regression testing to verify fixes Create, maintain, and update test cases, checklists, and QA documentation Provide feedback on gameplay behavior, usability, and stability 2.Bilingual QA Support & Translation (JP ⇄ EN) Translate QA-related materials, including:Bug reports and tickets Test cases and checklists Internal QA documentation Internal communications (chat, email, etc.) Focus on accurate translation of existing materials between Japanese and English 3.Communication Support Communicate with developers and team members as part of daily QA tasks, using Japanese or English depending on the project Assist with written communication in English (e.g., chats, emails, tickets) Support smooth collaboration between Japanese and overseas teams when required Facilitate clear information sharing across language boundaries Verbal English communication is helpful but not required Qualifications Required Japanese proficiency equivalent to JLPT N2 or above Ability to write clear, professional English and Japanese (sufficient for bug reports, documentation, and business communication) Basic PC skills (data entry, spreadsheets, documentation tools) Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work Commitment to long-term employment (1+ year preferred) Preferred Experience in QA testing, game debugging, or software testing Experience writing bug reports in English Professional translation or interpretation experience Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Redmine, JIRA) TOEIC score of 700+ or equivalent Experience in leadership, coordination, or team support roles Ideal Candidate Profile Passionate about video games, including international titles Interested in working in a bilingual, cross-cultural environment Comfortable using both Japanese and English in a professional setting Work Environment Japanese is the primary language used for company operations (e.g., internal communication, administrative processes) Some team members can communicate in English AI translation tools (such as Copilot) are available and can be used in daily work Location Sapporo, Hokkaido (multiple office locations) Eligibility Open to candidates currently residing in Japan Foreign nationals welcome (valid work visa required) Visa documentation must be submitted during application Employment Details Employment Type: Part-time (hourly position, full-time hours expected) Working Hours: 10:00–19:00 (8 hours per day + 1 hour lunch break + 15 minutes break) Working Days: Monday–FridayWeekend work may be available during busy periods on a voluntary basis A 3-month probationary period applies Compensation Hourly Rate: ¥1,250 – ¥1,400 Salary will be determined based on experience and skills, including:QA / debugging experience Business-level English usage Translation or interpretation experience Salary review: 4 times per year Benefits Transportation allowance (up to ¥50,000/month) Overtime, late-night, and holiday pay Paid leave Social insurance Opportunity for full-time employment based on performance Annual health checkups Certification support (e.g., JSTQB) Location Sapporo, Hokkaido Kita Ward Office (THE PLACE SAPPORO) Chuo Ward Office (Urban Sapporo Building) Access Kita Ward:2 min walk from Namboku Line Kita-12jo Station 5 min walk from JR Sapporo Station Chuo Ward:2 min walk from Namboku Line Susukino Station 5 min walk from Namboku Line Odori Station Additional Information Weekend work may be requested during busy periods (voluntary) Smoking area available
