Supervisor, Piping
We are currently based at Metropolis, Buona Vista, Singapore.
Work Nature
- Independent on regular nature of work, uses personal experience, Team Works, applies relevant company policies and procedures.
Construction Quality Activities
- Oversee the fabrication and installation of piping construction scope which consists of several inter-related discipline in the FPSO construction plan or oversee a Topsides Fabrication / Marine Yard / Integration Yard, independently.
- Supervise and inspect yard’s piping fabrication and installation day-to-day activities and provide monitoring status including progress, issues, and concerns.
- Apply knowledge in piping construction to improve constructability and progress.
- Organize, direct, and supervise yard to ensure fabrication and installation procedures strictly follow drawings and specifications, comply to regulatory requirements, and fulfill equipment vendor’s specifications.
- Review material delivery forecast schedule in line with the requirements of project schedule to facilitate timely completion of the project. Coordinate with material procurement and logistic team regarding the delivery status, shortage, or damage materials.
- Assist with quality inspections and ensure that yard’s works are according to construction’s drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Ensure that all piping preservation is maintained, flange face protection and internal pipe are free from debris or any foreign materials.
- Ensure that subcontractor having relevant Piping documents and performing the MODEC Furnish Equipment [MFE] Installation / Preservation as per Vendor Requirements
- Oversee all flange alignment activity and internal spool cleanliness. Ensure all flanges are properly align and all piping components are internally clean.
- Review piping test packs, Conduct pre-hydrotest line check issue punch list to contractor. Maintain all records consolidated punch list.
- Review and witness pre-hydrotest flushing, ensure that line is properly flush prior to Hydrotesting activity.
- Witness Hydrotesting activity, ensure that the testing is executed as per project procedure.
- Assist with reinstatement and tri-party system walk, identify, and raise punch list for outstanding items.
- Implement Construction Quality Surveillance Check List
- Follow-up ITR and Closeout in timely manner
Communications
- Maintain good relationship with team members, reporting directly to superintendent.
- Interact with internal and external departments including but not limited to engineering departments, vendors, engineering subcontractor, construction subcontractor and Client.
- Facilitate communications with functional teams to ensure that issues are identified and incorporated into schedules and execution plan.
Documentation
- Review / update / produce Construction documents including Best Work Practices for Construction Methodology periodically as appropriate.
- Monitor all engineering deliverables, Isometric drawings, Standard & Special supports drawings and related material take off data (MTO) including the type, quantity wise by module and overall.
HSSE
- Complies with the MODEC HSSE Policies and Standard as described in the HSSE Commitment Statement. HSSE Standards, and the HSSE Procedures to always protect people and the environment. Has a duty of care to ensure that all personnel work in a manner that is not harmful to their own health and safety and the health and safety of others.

- Strong Working Knowledge of contractual documentation (contracts, waivers, addendums, annexes, scope changes, contractual schedule, etc.) and ensures planning and execution complies with contractual requirements.
- Strong Working Knowledge of certification body requirement and regulatory requirement.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in to guide & communicate information to multi-national personnel and different levels of work force and a large variety of vendors and fabricators.
Work Conditions
- Spends 100% at Site Construction Environment. Will be assigned to work full time at selected of the appointed project site, including international locations where applicable.
- Normal exposure to hazards such as noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, working at height for construction site environment.
Qualifications
- Batchelor’s Degree or Technical college certificate.
- Certification in a Trade Certification with track record of construction of at least 3 FPSO projects with piping fabrication, integration of marine and topside modules.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in onshore/offshore Oil & Gas area or FPSO EPC
- Valid CSWIP 3.1 (Level 2) / AWS: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) (is an optional advantage).
- Valid painting inspection certificate NACE Level 2 or FROSIO or AMPP (is an optional advantage).
- Qualified and certified as a qualified bolting specialist to ASME PCC-1 or equivalent (is an optional advantage).
Technical Competencies
- Computer skills including Mobile Devices with proficiency in Microsoft 365, 3D Model Viewer and PDF
- knowledge in construction management, project management, construction methodology principles, quality assurance and HSSE requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of marine construction AND / OR topsides modules structure / piping construction and preservation.
