Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (22 Months)

About the Role

SMEC India is seeking a qualified Field Engineer (Electrical) to support the Independent Engineer services for the MSTU Saswad 400/220/132 kV AIS Substation Project . The selected candidate will assist in site supervision, quality assurance, progress monitoring, and coordination with the client and contractor to ensure successful execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day electrical construction activities at the project site.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities of electrical systems and equipment.
• Maintain site records, inspection reports, and progress documentation.
• Coordinate with the Independent Engineer, client, contractor, and other stakeholders on technical and project-related matters.
• Identify construction issues and support timely resolution to avoid project delays.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, statutory regulations, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, site observations, and technical documentation.

Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction supervision or execution of EHV/HV substations, transmission, or power infrastructure projects .
• Experience in AIS/GIS substation projects will be preferred.
• Knowledge of testing and commissioning activities is desirable.

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of electrical construction practices and quality standards.
• Familiarity with relevant Indian Standards and electrical safety regulations.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and maintain project documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
