About The Role

About Humble Robotics

Working at Humble Robotics means taking on the biggest change in ground transportation in decades. We’re building an autonomous, zero-emissions hauler that dramatically lowers the cost of freight with groundbreaking vision-based AI, designed for today’s global logistics network.

We’re a fast-moving, close-knit team of AV industry veterans and innovative thinkers. We don’t believe culture can be engineered – but when it falls into place, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Progress has never felt so present.

Position Overview

In this role, you’ll build and rework vehicle harnesses (LV/HV and data), perform PCB rework and board bring-up support, and assemble/maintain test benches for sensors, compute, power, and vehicle interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Build, modify, and repair vehicle wiring harnesses — low-voltage power/signal (12/24/48V), high-voltage cabling, and high-speed data (automotive Ethernet, coax, CAN) with proper shielding, impedance, and routing practices
  • Perform PCB rework and prototype support: fine-pitch SMD and through-hole soldering, hot air rework, component replacement, and connector rework with ESD-safe handling
  • Support basic board debug: continuity checks, power rail validation, and bring-up measurements
  • Build and maintain lab and vehicle test benches — harnessed rigs for sensors/compute/power, relay/fuse boxes, interconnect panels, and instrumentation setups (power supplies, loads, scopes, DMMs)
  • Route and dress cables in vehicles and benches: loom/overbraid, heat shrink, labeling, and connector serviceability for rapid iteration
  • Troubleshoot electrical integration issues in vehicles and benches; propose fixes and improvements
  • Maintain build records (as-built notes) and organize parts/tools
  • Fabricate simple brackets, enclosures, and mechanical fixtures as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years hands-on experience in automotive, robotics, or aerospace lab environments or prototype shops (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Strong harnessing skills: crimping, pin extraction, splicing, shielding/grounding, strain relief, and proper automotive routing practices
  • Experience with common connector families (Deutsch, TE, Amphenol, Molex) and backshells/boots
  • PCB rework competence: confident with fine-pitch soldering and hot-air rework on dense boards
  • Comfortable reading schematics, board docs, and using a DMM/scope for basic checks
  • Able to wire safe power distribution (fusing, relays/contactors) with tidy, repeatable setups
  • High attention to detail, labeling, documentation, and workmanship standards
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • High-voltage vehicle or EV experience (contactors, precharge, HVIL concepts, HV connectors, safe routing practices)
  • Experience with automotive networks (CAN/LIN, automotive Ethernet) and coax-based sensor wiring
  • Familiarity with harness documentation tools (basic CAD, wiring diagrams, pinout tables) and maintaining ECO-style updates
  • Light fabrication skills (drill press, 3D printing, simple sheet metal) for fixtures and enclosures
  • Experience supporting rapid prototype vehicles and field deployments
  • Comfortable working around vehicles, lifting typical lab equipment, and following ESD and electrical safety procedures including HV safety practices

Compensation

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including qualifications, skills, experience, and location. We also offer competitive equity compensation and benefits.
