The ideal candidate will be a seasoned operational leader with a track record in the railway industry. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring seamless execution of our business strategy About Us A career at Hitachi Rail will help create a legacy. Accountabilities Strategic Leadership : Define and implement the long-term strategic and operational direction of the supply chain, including flow, stock, and procurement planning. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and logistics processes. Monitor procurement processes, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement and harmonization of practices. Participate in strategic supplier negotiations and the implementation or renewal of framework agreements. Operational Excellence : Oversee annual purchasing budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and monitor procurement activities by product and service category. Coordinate and align supply chain activities with internal stakeholders (projects, sales, production, purchasing). Monitor the operational implementation of supply chain action plans and make necessary adjustments. Provide procurement expertise during tendering phases. Interface with the Finance dept. Interface and monitor the company's QHSE policy. Oversee facility management activities to ensure employee well-being and safety. Competencies (optional) Required Skills/ Knowledge Strong leadership skills Ability to build and motivate high-performing teams. In-depth knowledge of the company's business, competitors, partners and customers Decision-making and problem-solving abilities Strong negotiation skills Effective communication skills Desired Skills/ Knowledge Emotional intelligence and adaptability Strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple priorities Project management skills Education/Qualifications Advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role. Proven track record in supply chain management and procurement.
