About The Role

  1. You will design, specify, and develop control and protection systems for HVDC converter stations, including valve control, converter control, AC/DC protection, and auxiliary systems also perform detailed system studies and simulations (e.g., PSCAD, PSS/E) to analyze system performance, transient behavior, and validate control and protection strategies.
  2. You will develop and review technical specifications, functional design specifications (FDS), and detailed design documents for HVDC control and protection systems also conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and factory acceptance testing (FAT) of control and protection equipment.
  3. You will support site commissioning activities, including functional testing, parameter tuning, and troubleshooting of HVDC control and protection systems.
  4. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and customers to ensure successful project execution and participate in root cause analysis for system anomalies and implement corrective actions.
  5. You will stay abreast of the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices in HVDC control and protection also prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  6. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

  8. You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  9. Required with minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, development, and commissioning of HVDC control and protection systems.
  10. In-depth knowledge of HVDC transmission technologies, converter topologies (e.g., LCC, VSC), and their control principles, proficiency in power system simulation tools such as PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS/E, MATLAB/Simulink.
  11. Strong understanding of power system protection principles and relaying for AC and DC systems, experience with real-time control systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in HVDC applications.
  12. Familiarity with relevant international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) for HVDC systems, with an ability to travel domestically and internationally for project meetings, factory acceptance tests, and site commissioning.
  13. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, also with strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
