About The Role

Provide legal support and advice for Traveloka’s international operations across all jurisdictions where it operates, with primary focus on Australia, South Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines. Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including partnership, procurement and distribution agreements. Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, licensing, and consumer protection matters relevant to the travel and e-commerce sectors. Support cross-border projects, new market entry, and business initiatives from a legal risk and structuring perspective. Collaborate closely with regional and global legal, compliance, and business teams on cross-functional matters. Monitor, interpret, and advise the business on legal and regulatory developments affecting operations in these and other relevant jurisdictions, proactively advising the business on emerging risks and compliance obligations. Work closely with the HR team on employment matters, including sensitive employee-facing situations that require sound judgment and a high degree of empathy. Manage and coordinate with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal support. Assist with dispute resolution, regulatory inquiries, and other legal matters as they arise. Requirements Qualified lawyer with 6-8 years of progressive legal experience, including a mix of law firm and in-house experience. Prior experience in the travel, e-commerce or payment industry is an advantage but not required. Exposure to one or more of the target markets (Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines), whether through in-house roles, private practice, or secondments. Solid grounding in multi-jurisdictional regulatory matters, including at least one of: employment law, corporate/entity management, consumer protection, or sector-specific licensing. Experience engaging directly with regulators or government authorities is a strong advantage. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills in English; proficiency in Korean is an advantage but not required as this role deals with the Korean speaking market. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders and external counsel. Familiar with AI tools to assist day-to-day legal work (e.g., contract review, research or drafting assistance).
