About The Role
About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Client Engineer to own the client-side architecture and technical execution for our next-generation mobile game. This role will lead the development of core gameplay systems, client performance, rendering integration, UI frameworks, asset pipelines, and live-service client infrastructure. You will work closely with backend engineers, game designers, artists, technical artists, animators, and product stakeholders to build a responsive, scalable, and highly polished mobile game experience. The ideal candidate has strong engineering fundamentals, deep experience with real-time game development, and the ability to translate product and gameplay goals into robust client-side systems. This is a leadership role for someone who can both write high-quality production code and guide the engineering direction of the client team. You will help build a modern development workflow that embraces AI-assisted coding, automated testing, rapid prototyping, and efficient content iteration. Responsibilities • Lead the architecture, development, and optimization of a scalable mobile game client. • Build and maintain core gameplay systems, UI, animation integration, networking, and live-service features. • Drive client performance across rendering, memory, CPU/GPU, loading, and device compatibility on iOS and Android. • Collaborate with designers, artists, backend engineers, QA, and product teams to deliver polished gameplay experiences. • Design systems that support rapid content iteration, remote configuration, analytics, feature flags, and seasonal live operations. • Mentor engineers, establish engineering best practices, and provide technical leadership across the client team. • Champion AI-assisted development workflows to improve prototyping, testing, tooling, and engineering productivity. Requirements • 6+ years of professional game development experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role. • Strong experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, or another real-time game engine, with proficiency in C#, C++, or similar languages. • Proven track record of designing and shipping scalable client-side systems for commercial games. • Deep understanding of mobile game performance optimization, debugging, profiling, networking, and platform constraints. • Experience building gameplay systems, UI, animation integration, asset management, and live-service features. • Familiarity with backend APIs, analytics, remote configuration, CI/CD, and production monitoring. • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience mentoring engineers. • Passion for mobile games and interest in leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency.
