About The Role
The Opportunity Reporting to the Director, Personal Insurance (PI) Operational Reporting & Analysis, the Senior Manager, PI Operational Reporting & Analysis plays a key role in delivering performance reporting, financial analysis, and business insights for the Personal Insurance (PI) business. The role is responsible for leading the development of executive, Board, investor, and regional performance reporting that provides a clear view of business performance across Personal Insurance. Through the measurement and analysis of financial, operational, and strategic performance indicators, the Senior Manager enables leaders to understand business results, identify performance drivers, assess emerging risks and opportunities, and make informed decisions. This role serves as a critical partner to Personal Insurance leadership, Corporate Finance, Actuarial, Investor Relations, Operations, and other stakeholders by transforming complex business information into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations. The position also provides leadership for reporting and analytical capabilities, driving continuous improvement in reporting processes, governance, and performance measurement frameworks. The successful candidate combines strong business acumen, analytical expertise, and leadership capabilities to deliver high-quality insights that support Personal Insurance's operating and financial objectives. What to Expect Drive Business Performance Reporting & Executive Insights Lead the Personal Insurance business performance reporting, delivering timely and insightful reporting for the Executive Team, Board of Directors, PI Senior Leadership Team, and other key stakeholders. Translate financial, operational, and strategic information into concise executive narratives that clearly articulate performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and emerging trends. Develop reporting and presentations that support business performance reviews, executive discussions, and investor communications. Lead Personal Insurance Performance Measurement Lead the measurement, monitoring, and reporting of regional and consolidated Personal Insurance financial and operational performance. Provide leaders with a comprehensive view of business results through P&L analysis, operational metrics, and key performance indicators across markets, channels, and business segments. Identify and analyze variances, trends, performance gaps, and emerging risks to support effective business management. Partner with Finance, Portfolio Management, and Business Leaders to evaluate performance drivers and support actions required to improve business outcomes. Support Business Decision Making Partner with business leaders to monitor progress against operating plans, financial commitments, and business objectives. Deliver analysis that helps leaders understand the impact of operational decisions, business initiatives, and changing market conditions. Identify performance risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to improve results. Contribute analytical expertise and performance insights that support forecasting, planning activities, and management discussions. Lead External Reporting & Strategic Analysis Lead Personal Insurance contributions to quarterly earnings, investor reporting, external disclosures, and related stakeholder communications. Partner with Investor Relations, Corporate Finance, Actuarial, and business leaders to develop clear and compelling performance narratives. Deliver analytical support for major business initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and other high-priority corporate programs. Advance Reporting Excellence & Team Capability Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, governance practices, analytical tools, and data management capabilities. Lead the implementation of enhanced reporting solutions, dashboards, automation opportunities, and AI-enabled analytical capabilities. Strengthen data quality, reporting controls, and governance practices to ensure reporting integrity, consistency, and audit readiness. Establish and maintain effective reporting standards and practices across Personal Insurance. Lead, coach, and develop the Operational Reporting & Analysis team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and insight-driven environment. University degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent. Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, performance management, business analytics, or related disciplines within the P&C insurance industry. Strong understanding of P&L performance measurement, business performance management, and financial analysis. Proven ability to synthesize complex financial and operational information into meaningful business insights and executive-level communications. Advanced analytical, financial modelling, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across multiple functions and leadership levels. Demonstrated leadership experience developing talent, coaching teams, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. What you Bring University degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline. Salary Range: $106,500 - $156,500 High degree of proficiency with English required to service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.
