onsemi is looking for a knowledgeable Manufacturing Equipment Technician that can perform preventative maintenance and lead electrical/mechanical troubleshooting. This position will specialize in maintaining various semiconductor manufacturing areas pertaining to ion implant, metals sputter deposition, wafer thinning, and probe test equipment. A qualified candidate must have a basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting knowledge, and a passion for working safely in a fast-paced industry. Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems that include servo motors and controllers, stepper motors and controllers, AC motors and controllers, and DC motors and controllers. Troubleshoot and repair electro-pneumatic systems that include solenoid valves, gate valves, high vacuum isolation valves, vacuum pumps, and pneumatic logic circuits. The completion of all scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and repair procedures in a timely, accurate, and safe manner. Use test and diagnostic equipment to identify root cause problems and put corrective actions in place. Use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis, and repair of equipment. Drive solutions and guidelines by recommending and writing maintenance procedures and specifications. A safety-minded approach is required: employees must be able to learn, understand and follow all safety documentation, specs, and protocol, including LOTO. Must also be able to identify any/all safety concerns and regulatory violations in order to eradicate them. The ability to consistently take initiative and drive one’s own work at a high level and demonstrate advanced leadership skills for small teams. Perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers. Work with outside vendors as required Opportunity to provide leadership to other technicians by providing training and mentoring.

Minimum High School Diploma plus 8 years of related experience. Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude is required to succeed in this role. Ability to define, initiate, and manage maintenance events that improve tool function and metrics. Use hand tools including wrenches, calipers, voltage/current meters, oscilloscopes, and other various equipment technology specific tooling A strong understanding and working knowledge of the following systems is beneficial: pneumatic/hydraulic pump systems, multi axis servo systems, optical components, chillers & cooling systems. Familiarity with Robotic / Automated handling systems & vacuum systems Must be able to work with various hazardous gases and chemicals. Must be able to wear full face airline respirator. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl up to 1/3 of the time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work in both an office and anti-static clean room environment.
