Maintenance Worker - Summer (temp to permanent)

Position Overview

The Maintenance Worker supports the mission of Marian Central Catholic High School by maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. This position involves daily cleaning, facility, upkeep, light repairs, and general maintenance tasks throughout the school and surrounding grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair work such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs and minor plumbing, electrical or carpentry tasks.
• Set up and break down spaces for school events, assemblies and meetings.
• Ensure grounds and entryways are clean, safe and free from debris or snow.
• Organize maintenance supplies and equipment; notify the Director of Facilities when stock needs replenishing.
• Assist with deliveries, moving furniture and other manual tasks as requested.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a secure facility.
• Indoor and outdoor tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial, facilities, or general maintenance work preferred.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and safely use hand and power towels.
• Dependable, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform manual labor.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
