Are You One of Us As a Senior Associate in GEP’s Pharma & Life Sciences Consulting Practice, you will support global clients in optimizing their R&D and Directs Procurement operations. You will work on sourcing projects across CDMOs/CRDMOs, clinical supply chain, and regulated development categories, helping clients achieve measurable savings, innovation, and supply assurance. This is a client-facing consulting role ideal for professionals who bring deep understanding of the biopharma value chain, category management expertise, and hands-on experience in regulated sourcing environments. You will collaborate with senior consultants, category leaders, and client stakeholders to drive strategic procurement initiatives and deliver impactful results. Key Responsibilities 1. Drive Strategic Sourcing Initiatives Lead end-to-end sourcing projects for R&D and Directs categories such as APIs, excipients, clinical packaging, labeling, and CDMO/CRDMO services. Design and manage RFx events, conduct supplier outreach, lead bid evaluations, and support contract finalization. Analyze spend, market, and supplier data to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvement, and innovation. 2. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Stakeholders Engage stakeholders across Analytical Development, Process Development & Manufacturing, Clinical Supply, Regulatory Affairs, and Procurement. Align sourcing initiatives with R&D and clinical program timelines to ensure business continuity and compliance. Serve as a reliable partner to clients by facilitating data-driven recommendations and supplier selection insights. 3. Supplier Management & Contracting Conduct TCO and value-based evaluations to identify best-fit suppliers for R&D and manufacturing needs. Track supplier performance and provide insights for continuous improvement and risk mitigation. 4. Market Intelligence & Category Insights Research and analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies in pharma procurement. Utilize internal benchmarks and GEP’s category intelligence to guide sourcing decisions. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practice development across GEP’s global teams. 5. Governance, Compliance & Reporting Support governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to client-specific regulatory and documentation standards. Track project performance against key metrics such as savings, cycle time, and stakeholder satisfaction. Provide clear and concise status reports and dashboards to client and internal leadership. Categories Supported - CDMOs / CRDMOs – from preclinical through Ph3 readiness, Clinical Supply Chain – packaging, labeling, logistics, and distribution, Regulatory and Medical Affairs Services and Innovation and Emerging Biotech Partnerships Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred). 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries. Hands-on experience supporting R&D or clinical development sourcing in regulated environments. Prior exposure to CDMO/CRDMO supplier sourcing and contract management. Experience working with procurement platforms and ERP systems such as SMART by GEP®, Ariba, Coupa, SAP, or Oracle. Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Prior consulting or client-facing experience with global pharma clients preferred. Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Salary Range : $100,000 – $120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Additional Compensation : Eligible for a performance-based bonus tied to individual and company performance.
