About The Role

Foundation Model

BGI has accumulated massive high-precision spatial omics datasets covering diverse tissue types, with standardized data formats. These resources are sufficient to support the construction of spatial omics foundation models for:

Animals (using high-quality human or mouse datasets as input), and

Plants (using high-quality wheat or soybean datasets as input).

Based on the foundation model, virtual organ-specific models—such as virtual skin models, brain models, and aging models—can be further fine-tuned.

  • 2.Mechanistic understanding of skin diseases and aging
  • 3.Biomarker and gene target screening
  • 4.Gene perturbation prediction
  • 5.Drug safety and efficacy evaluation

(1) Preferred Background

Dermatology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or AI.

(2) Core Technical Skills

Spatial transcriptomics analysis; multimodal foundation model fine-tuning; gene perturbation prediction.

(3) Modeling Competency

Ability to model disease progression and aging mechanisms in tissue microenvironments.

(4) Preferred Qualifications

Experience with spatial omics platforms; biomarker discovery projects.

(5) Personal Traits

Detail-oriented, translationally focused, and comfortable with high-resolution biological data.
