Job Description
bp pulse is scaling a world-class EV charging network. The Pricing & Power Lead, within the Pulse UK Network Commercial team, ensures pricing and power strategies convert demand into profitable charging sessions.
This role is the UK commercial owner of pricing management and governance, and the authority on power and pricing-related value drivers for bp pulse UK. You will provide commercial recommendations and guardrails to optimise value delivery.
The role requires strong financial and commercial judgement, with accountability for translating complex market, cost, and demand dynamics into clear pricing and value decisions.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of pricing strategies across all customer channels, ensuring alignment with the overall marketing strategy and business objectives.
- Own pricing governance and decision frameworks, and oversee pricing and discount changes, including end-to-end process enhancement.
- Drive UGM optimisation across all routes to market, including payment terminal, eMSP, partner pricing and roaming, ensuring pricing structures are commercially sound. Work closely with Commercial teams to support alignment and growth across B2B and fleet channels.
- Own commercial requirements and prioritisation for new pricing capabilities, such as site-level and time-of-use pricing, partnering with Product and Technology on process design, delivery and ongoing enhancement.
- Support the overall Network GFO process including shaping pricing and cost inputs, ensuring both pricing and power cost assumptions are reflected accurately in forecasting.
- Maintain competitor intelligence, including competitor price scans, roaming terms and subscription offers, and own and develop pricing dashboards, translating insights into actionable leadership updates.
- Work in close partnership with the bp power procurement team to align power sourcing strategies with pricing strategies and capabilities, maximising margin opportunities.
- Act as the UK commercial authority on non-commodity costs, pre-empting changes and working cross-functionally with procurement and build teams on initiatives to reduce power-related costs, such as power reduction or battery storage projects.
Job Qualifications
- Related years of experience in finance, pricing or a role with commercial accountability.
- Strong understanding of energy pricing and power cost drivers, or demonstrated ability to develop insight into complex cost markets.
- Advanced analytical capability, with the ability to translate data into insights that inform value decisions.
- In-depth understanding of customer and competitor dynamics, market trends and sector-specific pricing challenges.
- Expertise in integrated pricing methodologies and frameworks.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to achieve internal alignment across diverse teams.
- Contract literacy, including pricing clauses and roaming terms, with a strong governance mindset.
Desirable experience
- Experience in the energy industry.
- Exposure to roaming and partnership constructs in the EV industry.
