About The Role

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITES

  • This is a Full Time Warehouse Sanitation position. Responsibilities include operating power
  • scrubber, sweeping, dusting, mopping, removing debris from the aisle ways, recouping damaged
  • product, and stacking of pallets emptied by the shipping department, and any other duties
  • assigned by a Supervisor. Will operate warehouse equipment, such as electric order machines,
  • fork-lifts, and a variety of other power tools needed to perform daily job functions. Environment
  • may include grocery, frozen, perishable, front office.

As a Sanitation Department Associate, you will be responsible for

  •  Safety: Promote a safe work environment ensuring that all department employees are
  • adhering to OSHA and company safety policies. Accident prevention must be considered
  • an inseparable part of everyday operations. Set safety goals annually as part of the
  • career/personal development plan and develop action plans to achieve those goals.
  •  Monitoring the facility for Safety/Sanitary infractions, and bringing those infractions to a
  • Supervisor.
  •  Day to day cleanliness of your assigned area, which may include: Sweep dry spillage
  • from underneath the racks and pallets and for hand pick up or for the purpose of the
  • power sweeper. Mop all spillage with a chemical compound in between and behind the
  • food racks or wherever is needed. Pick up and transport pallets, which weigh
  • approximately 40 pounds, when they are empty in the picking slot and transport the
  • pallets to the return dock. Pull or cut back the plastic that surrounds the product that is in
  • the pick slot. Be able to pick up the damaged product, which could be in high places and
  • weigh up to 100 pounds, and recoup this damage so that it can be restocked.
  •  Upkeep of periodic Work Orders, assigned by Supervisor.
  •  Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties

COMPETENCIES

  •  Must be able to lift 40-45lbs regularly and up to 100 pounds periodically.
  •  Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks is a must.
  •  Must be able to work in moderately cold temperatures for long periods of time.
  •  Must have the ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as electric order machines,
  • fork-lifts, and a variety of other power tools needed to perform assigned duties.
  •  Must meet attendance requirements.
  •  Ability to hear and respond to safety horns, intercom system and voice communication
  • systems
  •  Ability to identify and sequence numbers correctly.
  •  Ability to see details at close range and at a distance.
  •  Ability to think, reason and concentrate.
  •  Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
  •  Ability to speak, read and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective
  • communication with supervisors, employees, and customers, based on the assumption that
  • such individuals can only speak and understand English.
  •  Must be reliable, responsible and dependable, and able to meet requirements of the
  • position.
  •  Ability to work in high places as required by job duties.
