Custodian

Under general supervision, responsible for performing housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, and all other areas in campus buildings.

Cleans, sweeps, mops, dusts, and scrubs tile work, floors, stairways, hallways, restrooms, offices, laboratories, locker rooms, and building lobbies. Cleans, dusts, and polishes furniture and equipment. Washes and polishes drinking fountains. Cleans and maintains restrooms. Empties waste baskets and trash boxes. Wax and polish floors. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Ability to use common cleaning tools and lightweight vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and buffers. Ability to follow work schedule, work safely and lift/move lightweight objects. Ability to read and/or follow simple direction/signs and follow simple verbal and/or written instructions. EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED is required. This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
