Qualifications

As our preferred candidate you have MSc in Engineering with extensive experience of product development with in the automotive industry. You are also expected to have several years of manager experience on a Leading Leader level. You should possess solid English skills.

As a manager for Cab Engineering you are expected to have a strong business mind set.

You need to be an inspiring leader and have a positive mind set and be interested in developing people as well as technology.

You are expected to have a holistic view, show managerial courage and be able to lead your team to achieve continuous improvements. Cab Engineering Gothenburg is the department within Vehicle Engineering, responsible for developing the FH/FM/FMX cabs, which contribute to Volvo Trucks business, the world leading brand in the commercial vehicle industry. We are now looking for a Chief Engineer with responsibility for the FH/FM/FMX Cab organisation in Gothenburg.

Cab Engineering develops the most competitive cabs by understanding the final customer needs and applying the knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions that satisfy these needs. The work is based on shared technology, common architecture and brand uniqueness to provide business advantages to the Volvo Truck Brand and the Volvo Group.

As the Chief Engineer Cab Engineering in Gothenburg you will lead a highly experienced team of approximate 150 employees. You will be an important member in the Vehicle Engineering Leadership Team Gothenburg. You will be reporting to Vice President Vehicle Engineering Gothenburg.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for development and quality assurance of Cab products
• Be updated on the Cab product performance and secure world class products
• Secure project and product maintenance deliveries
• Lead product quality improvement and product cost reduction initiatives
• Secure a front office to the brand for the vehicles in production and aftermarket
• Drive the Engineering agenda and technology plan for the Cab FH/FM/FMX area
• Lead and develop people, organization and knowhow within the department
• Contribute in harmonization and development of processes, methods, tools and standards globally
• Drive for Lean and efficient development
• Full responsibility for the department financial performance
