Required Experiences and Education

• Master of Science or equivalent in Engineering, Statistics, Appl. mathematics or Computer Sc.
• Previous experience querying Logged Vehicle Databases
• Strong analytical skills on large amount and data and excellent problem solver
• Ability to build data models on your own
• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written

The following are considered strong merits

Previous experience with SPSS tools, R or Python

Previous experience working with solving problems combining LVD and other databases

Previous experience working with Quality, uptime or diagnostics

The Quality and Warranty Data Analytics team is responsible for setting the strategic roadmap for analytics methods as well as supporting the business with advanced quality & warranty data analyses. We work closely with our colleagues from GTT Quality & Customer Satisfaction (Q&CS), but we also support other engineering functions in quality and warranty matters globally within the Volvo Group.

Main activities and responsibilities

As a Lead Data Analyst, with special responsibility for Logged Vehicle Data (LVD), you are an experienced problem solver who works with advanced analytics in an expanding area for the team. Your analytics expertise derives equally from your data driven problem solving skills and from your deep product and domain expertise within Volvo Group.

Logged Vehicle Data or telematics data is information streamed from Volvo Group products about usage and internal workings, such as fuel consumption or fault codes.

You will be responsible for driving strategic projects within the LVD area of quality and warranty analytics, working cross-functionally with other departments. You will be tasked with exploring and implementing new ways to bring added value to our customers by combining Quality and Warranty data with other vehicle data. You will drive all phases of problem solving, from the initial business needs to understanding, structuring and modeling the data and finally giving recommendations to engineers and management teams.

A large part of your job will be leading a team of senior data analysts and SAS developers within Q&CS to combine Quality, Warranty and Logged Vehicle data, while at the same time securing an optimal use of Q&CS resources and making sure the development is in line with IT development guidelines.

Furthermore you will

Support the solving of urgent quality issues with advanced analytics

Manage complex challenges in areas of data mining, optimization and data visualization

Improve GTT quality and warranty processes and teams by developing the tools, methods & routines required

Represent Q&CS and GTT in relevant work groups and steering committees
