Able to provide technical specifications in the field of mechanical installations for test cells and testing systems and equipment

Have been involved in investment projects and specification work for purchasing of new equipment is seen as a merit

Volvo Powertrain is now searching for a Development Engineer for mechanical installations to support the development of a New Powertrain Laboratory in Gothenburg

Job Description

As a Development Engineer you will play an important part in our investment program.

We can offer you an interesting and exciting experience, where you will be involved in the development of facilities and equipment to be able to meet new demands in testing of engines, transmissions, hybrids, batteries and complete drivelines.

As Development Engineer you will be responsible for

Technical descriptions, specifications and act as advisor for the investment projects related to engine, transmission and electro-mobility testing

Understand the product project, (test object), requirements and in co-operation/communication with equipment suppliers finding technical solutions and secure existing common standards. You will also support the realization and commissioning of investment projects

During your work within this investment program develop deeper understanding of

Mechanical installations of test objects (engine, transmission and electro-mobility)

Base plates & foundations

Mechanical safety & protection

Tilting & rolling devices for UUT:s (Unit Under Test)

Share your knowledge with the operational teams through advice and educational courses

Perform pre-studies and choose the best solutions in accordance to quality, accuracy, reliability, maintainability by working in close cooperation with equipment suppliers and networking

Support the operational teams in fault tracing of major equipment and methods

Part of your responsibilities will be adjusted according to your abilities

You will work in close cooperation with the engineering departments in order to understand the product development needs, and keep updated on the latest engine, gearboxes and electro mobility technologies.
