Desirable experience and qualifications

Qualifications in academic Technical education, MSc or equivalent

Organization skills

Knowledge of diesel engines and emissions

Experience of emission testing, preferably emissions on diesel engines

Experience of technical documentation

Good knowledge in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

If possible knowledge/experience of documentation and processes

If possible knowledge/experience of certification issues

Fluent in Swedish and English is a minimum. Other language skills are welcome

The Engine Certification Department is now looking for a new Certification Engineer.

About us

Twenty highly skilled engineers are working with Emission Certification, Documentation, In-use measurement, Conformity of Production, Reporting to authorities, Legal understanding and emission labelling. We are responsible for emission certification and compliance for all Volvo Penta products all over the world. We work with both marine and industrial engines. We have a broad network both internally and externally.

Position description

You will be the certification department’s representative in product development projects and ensure that the projects have the correct legal prerequisites. You will supervise and evaluate the necessary tests needed to fulfil emission legislation. You will co-ordinate the certification activities with involved staff such as test engineers, workshop, design engineers and authorities. We are responsible for completing the application documents, seeing that they are being sent to authorities and then making sure that engine certificates are received on time. We work with engine certification for both marine and industrial engines. We are up-dating our certification documentation for authorities on a continuous basis.

Represent certification group in projects

Supervise and evaluate certification tests

Plan and organize and perform certification activities together with our organization and external authorities

Put the application documents together and apply for certificates
