Wanted qualifications and merits

  • Master of Science in Human Machine Interaction, Application Engineering, Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, Electronics or equivalent
  • Experience from working with Human-Machine Interaction, using tools like SE-tool or other data base experience (for example System weaver)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience from sw development in automotive (truck or car) industry, preferable within the area of entertainment and connected services
  • Experience of agile methods, such as SCRUM and KANBAN is an asset
  • Automotive experience is a strong merit
  • Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
  • Driving license (you must have vehicle experience)
  • Experience from IT development is an asset

We work with our HMI heavy head unit (android), amplifiers, speakers, microphones & antennas. We are the ones within AB Volvo that do the on-board entertainment, applications and connected services. Some of the apps and End user functions we implement are Entertain the driver, Driver Coaching, ISee, Remote SW Download, Geofencing, Fleet management, Vehicle settings, body builder, automation apps, electromobillity apps, phone, media players, 3rd party apps etc. Connectivity is a key enabler for the future of the Volvo Group. Our services and connected android system is enabling new features in the entertainment, productivity and uptime field. The development in the area of connectivity is fast, furious and fun!

We are now looking for a HMI Architect to front our Entertainment and Connected Services Software HMI into the future.

The mission and main responsibilities are

Take ownership of the HMI way of working within our organization

Manage our HMI deliveries in an transparent way

Secure that the HMI Engineers have up-to-date, relevant technical input in for example how to handle vehicle signals, how to track vehicle signals or how to synchronize vehicle parameters

Support the HMI Engineers in creating HMI specifications which are used by android software developers and testers

Ensure a maximum level of Synch between all technical dependencies across brands

Participate and cross functionally drive concept investigations in early phases (deliver reports)

Be part of ongoing HMI activities of the android development teams such as community of practices

Be an important link between our HMI Engineers and interfaces outside of the section (such as function owners, function developers, product designers, developers etc.)

Actively drive knowledge sharing within the area of HMI within android

Lead and be a part of to continuously develop the processes, methods and tools that are used by the section to deliver according to committed deliveries and to achieve the objectives stated in the strategic action plan

Influence the overall HMI roadmap with strategies on HMI android design

Be a part of the continuous improvement work that are done within the team and the organization such as developing the processes, methods, tools & product

Ensure that you support that the Entertainment and Connected Services HMI is delivered in an optimal way

Drive and deliver the Product Strategy Roadmaps when applicable

Secure that the HMI is developed in line with applicable technology strategies and roadmaps according to stipulated processes, methods and tools

Participate and contribute in retrospective meetings, sprint reviews, etc.

Secure knowledge sharing

Take an active role in moving OBT into an agile development organization
