About The Role

GoMaterials is one of Canada's fastest-growing companies, recognized by Deloitte, the Globe & Mail, and the Lazaridis Scaleup Program. We’re revolutionizing how landscape contractors source plant and hardscape materials through a B2B marketplace that simplifies procurement in a traditionally outdated industry.

Since our inception, we have helped landscapers save time, money, and stress and plant over 1.5 million plants and trees. Led by a young and eager group of entrepreneurs, GoMaterials is aggressively expanding across North America. We are therefore looking for amazing people to add to our team!

About the role

As a Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the movement of goods from suppliers to customers - ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance every step of the way. You'll make decisions with confidence, inform stakeholders clearly, and bring a results-oriented approach to everything you touch. From day one, you'll play a pivotal role in sustaining our 100% growth rate, and you'll always have a seat at the table to share your ideas.

What You’ll Do

-

Coordinate and manage the end-to-end logistics process across the US, making sound decisions quickly to keep orders on track for quality, speed, fill, communication, and price - delivering the best possible customer experience.

-

Execute value engineering initiatives on transport with a results-oriented mindset, identifying opportunities to maximize order profitability and success on every shipment.

-

Negotiate confidently with nurseries and transport partners to secure the best terms, while maintaining the strong, reliable relationships that keep our supply chain running smoothly.

-

Organize and prioritize your workload with precision - managing multiple active orders simultaneously, following up diligently, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

-

Communicate proactively and clearly: keep upper management informed of challenges, risks, and wins, and escalate issues with the context needed to act fast.

-

Resolve post-order issues promptly and thoroughly, taking corrective action and closing the loop so the same problem doesn't happen twice.

-

Recommend and help implement process improvements that close efficiency gaps and protect revenue - always looking for a smarter way to get things done.

-

Support upper management with additional logistics-related tasks and admin when required.

What You’ll Need

  • 2-4 years of proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.
  • Hands-on experience booking, managing, and negotiating with trucking and freight carriers.
  • Exposure to CRM or TMS platforms and comfortable adopting new operational tools.
  • A sharp, proactive problem-solver - you identify issues before they surface, make decisions with incomplete information, and act without waiting to be told.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail: you follow up, follow through, and keep complex workflows moving across multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation skills and stakeholder communication - you can influence up, down, and across an organization, and you do it with clarity and confidence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable across the full Google Workspace
  • Fluency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Deep familiarity with US logistics, customs brokerage, and import/export compliance.
  • Background in the landscaping, horticulture, or wholesale plant materials industry.
  • Proven experience formally or informally mentoring junior team members in a logistics or supply chain environment
