Volvo Buses is now seeking a Group Manager for Geometry Architecture within Chassis and Driveline department. The Chassis and Driveline department are responsible to develop robust concepts and verified and validated solutions meeting customer needs together with other development areas. The Geometry architecture team is part of Platform Development which is a function within Global Product Development (GPD) at Volvo Buses. GPD are responsible for developing platform solutions within the areas of Chassis, Body in white, Body, Powertrain and Electrical & Software architecture. The main sites are located in Sweden and Brazil.

Geometry architecture is responsible lead the geometrical studies for complete vehicle projects.

The size of the team is 5 Geometry architects. In this position you will work as an operational group manager, meaning that you will also act as a Geometry Architect apart from leading and coaching the team. In this position you will be part of the Chassis and Driveline management team and report to Chassis and Driveline Department manager. The team is a mix of competences and experiences with a high engagement.

At your job you will

One main challenge for the team is to develop and implement the strategies and execution securing our geometrical architecture to be able to meet future challenges within the area of Modularization & geometry assurance. Therefore, it’s important that you like to start up and engage, but also drive changes and implementations all the way to the end destination. Your main task over time is to develop the team and the individuals to support challenges contributing to our future technology target image.

One important function as a group manager is also to define, agree, communicate and execute on strategies and targets for the team and the department together with the management team of Chassis and Driveline. You will be one of the main contributors to build and execute the roadmap for product commonality and modularization.

We are currently on a change journey to implement Lean@VBC with the focus to strengthening the engineering voice by actively work to understand customer needs and usage where we grow and share knowledge amongst each other.
