Skills & experience

  • Business driven with a good understanding of business processes and the key information needed in the business
  • Holistic view across domains, processes and products/services
  • Understanding of the potential of technology and IS/IT solutions
  • Experience with SaaS architecture, SaaS implementation, cloud-to-cloud integrations and agile development/architecture is preferred
  • Salesforce and/or SiteCore architecture experience will be an advantage
  • Proactively and voluntarily takes the first steps to identify and address issues and opportunities
  • Leadership and coaching competences; guide and coach others in resolving complex issues
  • Good communication, analytical and presentation skills
  • Good understanding of architecture models and Volvo Group architecture frameworks and processes

Personal qualifications

This role requires a Master University degree along with strong analytical skills, you need to be a good communicator and being able to facilitate workshops and build networks. A good business understanding and knowledge of the Volvo Construction Equipment is considered as a benefit. Volvo Construction Equipment is transforming and information flow between products with IT, services based on information and the traditional IT-landscape are increasing in importance for a successful transformation. The Enterprise Architect play a key role in ensuring that Volvo CE can move forward in the best way with this transformation.

The Enterprise Architect plays a key role in ensuring that Volvo CE moves forward in the best way both functionally and technically with a cross-functional and cross product/process approach.

The Enterprise Architect is deeply involved in the creation, maintenance and management of Volvo CE’s Sales Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Business Information Architecture (BIA) supporting the Market & Sell Total Offer (MAS) and Deliver & Develop Customer Loyalty (DCL) processes.

The role works cross-functional with business and IT stakeholders to provide overall direction, guidance and facilitation.

Purpose of the job

The goal is to enable execution of the business strategy towards the long term plan with agility in tactical decisions.

This is achieved by defining and implementing enterprise target architectures, strategies and roadmaps.

The Enterprise Architect must understand and interpret requirements, gather information, influence people, facilitate consensus building, synthesize and translate ideas and requirements into actionable roadmaps supporting the business strategy / business objectives.

Main activities and responsibilities

Identify and analyze critical information flows to understand, plan, develop and control the information architecture to improve the potential business value of our information assets

Involved in strategy planning and strategy implementation processes for master data and information management

Development of information management standards and practices and for defining the data model, and aligning it with the enterprise architectural plan

Engage at an early stage with initiatives in our large transformation programs to provide architectural insight and guidance

Involved in developing and maintaining the EA BIA strategy and roadmap

Communicate EA and BIA business value

Safeguard quality over time in onetime and runtime activities across all architectural disciplines, in close cooperation with Group IT Technical architects and the Group CIO Office EA team

Support reduction of complexity in business processes, information, applications, integration and infrastructure

Facilitate the resolution of cross-processes, cross-product/services and cross-portfolio architectural concerns

Secure that EA and BIA artifacts are scoped, produced and maintained in such a way that their value to the business is optimized

Support Business Sub Portfolio Managers (BSPM’s) to maintain roadmap alignment with EA/BIA guidelines in portfolio planning phases and appointed change initiatives

Conduct EA certification reviews of projects to secure their alignment with architectural guidelines and business strategies

Investigate in industry models, perform benchmarking and ensure awareness of EA and technology trends
