About The Role

The AI Compliance Officer supports the design, implementation and continuous improvement of AUMOVIO’s AI Governance and AI Compliance Management System across the value chain. The role supports ensuring that AI systems, whether provided as standalone services or embedded within our products, are developed, deployed, and used in compliance with applicable laws, internal policies, and responsible AI principles.  

 

Main responsibilities are: 

  • Support the Head of Privacy and AI Compliance with the design, implementation and operation of an AI Compliance Management System, including rule framework, procedures, standards, controls, reporting and continuous improvement measures with particular focus on the EU AI Act and automotive-specific.  
  • Support with the continuous implementation and completeness of an inventory of AI systems and AI-enabled tools used across the organization, including internal tools, embedded product-related AI and third-party solutions.. 
  • Coordinate AI risk classification and applicability assessments under the EU AI Act and related regulatory frameworks, including the distinction between provider, deployer, importer, distributor and product-related obligations and provide expert guidance on the regulatory obligations associated with each role and risk category. 
  • Advise business on compliant AI use, including high-risk AI systems, transparency requirements, prohibited AI practices, human oversight, data governance, accuracy, robustness, and post-market monitoring. 
  • Support AI impact assessments, fundamental rights impact assessments, data protection impact assessments and risk reviews for AI systems, particularly where personal data, employee data, safety-critical applications or automated decision-making are involved. 
  • Closely collaborate with other functions to align AI compliance activities with automotive development, validation and lifecycle processes, including interfaces to functional safety, cybersecurity, software updates and type-approval related requirements. 
  • Review AI-related supplier, customer and partner arrangements in cooperation with Legal, Procurement, Data Protection and Cybersecurity, including contractual requirements, audit rights, data usage, documentation duties and allocation of responsibilities along the AI value chain. 
  • Develop and deliver AI compliance trainings and awareness measures including AI literacy requirements and practical guidance on responsible use of AI tools. 
  • Monitor regulatory developments, industry standards and authority guidance relevant to AI, data protection, and automotive compliance, and translate them into internal implementation actions. 
  • Support audits, assessments, management reporting and incident handling related to AI systems, including documentation of findings, remediation actions and lessons learned. 
  • University degree in Law, Compliance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Security or a comparable qualification. 
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, data protection, IT governance, product compliance, cybersecurity, risk management or a related field; experience in an international automotive, technology or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. 
  • Sound understanding of the EU AI Act, GDPR and related governance requirements; familiarity with AI risk management,  human oversight, data governance and transparency obligations is a strong asset. 
  • Ability to understand technical concepts related to AI, machine learning, data analytics, software development and connected vehicle ecosystems, and to translate them into practical compliance requirements. 
  • Strong project management, stakeholder management and analytical skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional implementation activities in a matrix organization. 
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory and technical topics clearly to both expert and non-expert audiences. 
  • Fluent English language skills, spoken and written; additional language skills are an advantage. 
  • High integrity, sound judgment, intercultural competence and a pragmatic, solution-oriented working style.
