About The Role

Role Summary/Purpose

The HR Business Partner provides strategic and tactical HR leadership for both the global Cell and Gene Therapy and Genomics and Cellular Research businesses in GE Healthcare, Life Sciences, providing expertise and guidance in the areas of culture and change management, strategic coaching, talent assessment and development, succession planning, performance management, and organizational design.

Essential Responsibilities

Partner with client managers to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives for these two LS businesses

Partner with client managers to develop and embed a contemporary organizational culture, and leverage change acceleration techniques to assist in driving broad change, manage cultural, practices integration required of a number of acquisition businesses to drive alignment and employee value proposition

Act as an organizational coach, who builds organizational capabilities, reduces complexity and partners with clients to maximize team performance

Strategically collaborate with client managers to design and implement the most effective organizational structures

Provide timely, effective and direct coaching to client group managers, assisting in the development of world class, contemporary leadership skills

Provide strategic coaching to key employees as related to succession planning, career path development, and performance management

Lead talent assessment in the assigned organizations, identifying key employee strengths and development needs in order to select, retain and develop key talent

Lead succession planning and talent development strategies for the organizations, identifying critical roles and preparing potential talent and pipelines for mentoring, training, etc.

Lead client groups through critical HR operating rhythms such as People Reviews, salary planning and performance management, leveraging assistance from the HRM as appropriate

Develop and drive strategies to attract, develop, engage and retain strong and diverse talent

Work with leaders and employees to create a positive and engaging work environment

Partner with Global HR managers and COE teams in order to deliver on strategy at local country, region level

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related discipline in which business knowledge and an understanding of human resource practices are gained (or equivalent knowledge/experience)

Demonstrated experience of HR generalist responsibility (i.e. handling employee relations, compensation, recruiting and performance management) and leadership experience with clear career progression

Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, evaluate people, manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment and effectively interface with high-level business and operations leaders

Outstanding communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Process and detail oriented, including strong organizational and prioritization skills

Sound knowledge of local labor laws and government requirements

Willing to travel up to 40% of the time

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced degree in Business, HR management or Industrial Relations such as MBA, MHR/IR, etc. (or equivalent knowledge/experience)
  • Proven project management and team leadership experience
  • An impact player with proven ability to drive change in an effective and participative manner
  • Experience driving business solutions through influence and collaboration in a global, matrix organization

Experience in M&A (Acquisition and Dispositions)

  • Able to energize and inspire others to commit to and take action on business priorities
  • Resourceful, innovative, persuasive
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Oracle HR systems knowledge
