Adjudicator's Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent provides administrative support to Benefit Adjudicators

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Logging all incoming correspondence into the department.
• Logging Admed Claims on Data Base and on Iseries . Ensure that all relevant forms and supporting documents are received and completed correctly; date stamping of all documents and return if all requirements are not received.
• Admed Exclusions. Obtain Admed Exclusion data from New Business that are to be entered on the Admed Database and enter message on I5 Series.
• Retrieving of claim files for adjudicators; filing claim files; coordination of files for scanning.
• Validation of Cheques and preparation for the cheque signatories
• Filing cheque payment vouchers, transmittals and receipts
• ACH Payments - Prepare ACH payments for Clients, legal representatives and Medical Institutions. Sending out ACH claim summary to Medical Institutions.
• Pre-claim advisory service (62-ADMED)
• Handles telephone queries from clients, agents and hospitals concerning Admed including, Claims procedures & requirements, Benefit Limits, Approved doctors & Medical Facilities.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with special projects
• Provide support to the Team Leader

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Minimum 5 CSEC passes inclusive of Grade 1 or 2 in Mathematics and English A and
• 6 CAPE passes (full certificate) or an equivalent diploma or professional certificate.

Experience

• At least one (1) year experience in a similar administrative or customer service role
• Insurance industry experience would be an asset.
