Orthotist Certified

The incumbent reports to the manager of Orthotics Prosthetics Department. The certified Orthotist is an interdisciplinary team member, who provides Orthotic services by assessing, manufacturing and fitting Orthotic appliances as prescribed by a physician. The incumbent provides education to inpatient and outpatient clients and team members related to Orthotic devices, fit and usage. The incumbent work closely with the orthotic/prosthetic technicians and provide direction/supervision for technical aspects within the fabrication of orthotic/prosthetic device/appliances. They participate in team conferences, clinic reviews and consultation with physicians, suppliers and funders as required. The incumbent ensures quality fabrication, adjustments/fit for optimal client satisfaction and outcomes, working closely with technical/support staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
